Let’s get one thing straight: Dhaka’s food scene is, same as its traffic, a chaotic paradise. If you’re in the city and not dining at local eateries, you’re doing it wrong.
Here’s a rundown of my top food spots in the city and why you should pay them a visit when you find yourself here.
1. Chef’s Table Courtside
Chef’s Table Courtside by far my favorite place to eat in Dhaka. The whole setup is this perfect blend of modern vibes and natural elements, and they even have a play area for the kids. You can find just about any type of food you’re craving, which is super convenient.
Now, it’s a little bit out of the way from the main city, but trust me, it’s worth the trip. The whole place is very modern and comfortable, so I bet you’ll be coming back after the first visit.
The only downside is that I’ve noticed the food quality in a few of the shops has gone down a bit on the days when it’s not as crowded, like on the regular weekdays. But even with that, I’m still totally hooked on this place. It’s just got this amazing vibe that keeps me coming back.

2. TakeOut
As a self-proclaimed burger connoisseur, TakeOut has become my go-to spot to satisfy those cravings.
With outposts sprinkled all over town – from Banani to Uttara, Dhanmondi to Ramna, Mirpur to Jamuna Future Park – it’s really convenient for me to get my burger fix, no matter where I’m at. TakeOut really has the formula down pat, and I’m more than happy to make their locations my second home.
Must Visit For
- The Burgers: Priced between 245 BDT to 450 BDT, and worth every penny.
- The Convenience: Multiple locations mean there’s always one nearby.
- The Taste: Juicy, delicious, and hits the spot every time.
- What to Try: Pretty much any burger in this place is awesome. Just take your pick.

3. Kabab Factory
The kebabs they serve in Kabab Factory are truly out of this world – they were so juicy and tender, it was like they just melted in my mouth. And the flavor was so spot on I immediately knew I’d be coming back for more.
They’ve got a huge variety of different kebabs and other tasty dishes, but I have to say, the Reshmi kebab was the real star of the show. Hands down the best I’ve ever had.

4. The Green Lounge
I recently had the chance to visit The Green Lounge in Dhaka, and I have to say, it was an absolute delight. The ambiance was simply breathtaking – the natural decor and lush greenery created an atmosphere that was very cool.
Now, I’ll admit, the prices at The Green Lounge aren’t exactly budget-friendly. But in my opinion, the food is worth every penny. If you’re in the mood for a truly unique and indulgent experience, I highly recommend checking out The Green Lounge, especially on a pleasant evening. Just be prepared to open your wallet a bit wider than usual.
Must Visit For
- The View: Rooftop dining at its finest.
- The Decor: Plants and bamboo make everything green and serene.
- What to Try: Whole Grilled Chicken
Opening Hours
Everyday, 12:00 pm – 10:30 pm
Location: 114, Rupayan Trade Center, 18th Floor
5. The Atrium Restaurant
As I stepped into The Atrium Restaurant, I was immediately struck by the inviting atmosphere. The entrance and interior were beautifully designed, though I will admit the lighting had a bit of a dim, subdued quality to it.
Given the exclusivity and premium pricing of this establishment, I suppose the slightly moody ambiance is all part of the aesthetic. The service was top-notch – the staff were incredibly responsive and attentive, ensuring my meal was served in a timely manner.
Now, let’s talk about the food. To start, I ordered French fries. While the presentation was elegant, I have to say the portion size didn’t quite justify the premium price tag. For my main course, I opted for the Pad Thai.
Compared to some of the more authentic versions I’ve sampled around town, this rendition fell a bit short in terms of flavor profile. That said, the quantity was reasonable, given the high-end setting. Overall, it is a very nice place which I plan to revisit.
Must Visit For
- What to Try: Pad Thai
- The Garden: Very calming and pleasant.
- The Vibe: Perfect for a quiet, relaxing meal.
Opening Hours
Everyday, 12:00 pm – 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm – 10:30 pm
Location: 50 & 52, Pragati Avenue
6. Herfy Bangladesh
For fast food fanatics, Herfy has it all. I’ll admit, my previous experience at this place wasn’t the greatest. But I figured I’d give them another shot over at the Gulshan location. And you know what? I’m glad I did.
This time around, it was a real winner. I ordered the Chicken Bucket and the Chicken Tortilla, and the Tortilla, in particular, was absolutely delicious – the bread was out of this world. The fried chicken was also a major improvement from my last visit. Perfectly crispy on the outside, juicy and flavorful on the inside.
The service was solid, too, and the place was hopping in the evening when I stopped by. Looks like Herfy has really stepped up their game

Summary
As someone who’s pretty familiar with the Dhaka food scene, I can tell you it’s a total rollercoaster – in the best way possible. These spots I shared are the absolute must-hit pit stops along the way.
Each one has its own unique vibe and flavors that’ll blow your mind, so it’s pretty much impossible to choose a favorite. My advice? Just go ahead and sample them all. This food tour is one wild ride, but it’s 100% worth the journey.
