Tinap Saitar is undoubtedly the crown jewel of Bangladesh’s waterfalls. Nestled in the lush hills of Rowangchari, Bandarban, this mammoth cascade is the kind of natural wonder that really puts things into perspective.
It’s truly a humbling experience to witness a waterfall of this scale in person. The sheer size and force of Tinap Saitar serve as a reminder of the breathtaking natural beauty that can be found within Bangladesh’s borders.
The waterfall is situated in the Ruma Upazila of Bandarban, right in the middle of the Pandui canal. To visit this spectacular sight, you’ll need to obtain permission from the Bangladeshi military, as the area is under their jurisdiction. Most travelers access Tinap Saitar by coming from either Ronin Para or Artha Para.

2. Nafakhum Falls
The Nafakhum Falls in Bandarban district is a truly impressive natural wonder. With its sheer volume of cascading water, it stands as the most voluminous waterfall in Bangladesh.
Visualizing the raw power of all that rushing water is enough to inspire a sense of awe in any visitor. While Tinap Saitar is also a worthwhile destination, Nafakhum Falls undoubtedly holds the title of the country’s most formidable waterfall.
To access this stunning natural attraction, travelers must obtain permission from the Bangladesh Army, as it is located within a restricted military area.

3. Jadipai Waterfall

The journey to Jadipai Para is no easy feat, however, as the path winds precipitously downward, making for a challenging trek in some sections. Yet the reward of witnessing the cascading waters of the Jadipai Waterfall makes the effort more than worthwhile.

4. Amiakhum Waterfalls
The Amiakhum Waterfall is definitely one of the gems of the region. It’s located deep in the hills, about a day and a half’s trek from the town of Remakri. When you finally lay eyes on that massive cascade tumbling into the river below, it’s truly a sight to behold.
If you have the chance to spend the night there under a moonlit sky, I’d highly recommend it – the experience is downright magical. The trail to get there isn’t the most challenging, but it’s not a beginner’s hike either. So, if you have a passion for waterfalls and trekking, this is definitely a destination worth adding to your list.

5. Madhab Kunda Waterfall
The Madhab Kunda Waterfall, located in the Moulvibazar district, is a popular tourist destination and one of the waterfalls on this list that I had absolutely no problems accessing.
The waterfall is at its most impressive during the rainy season when the flow is at its peak, so I suggest you visit at this point. The water is refreshing and inviting, though I advise you to exercise caution and avoid staying too long, as the area can be remote and security may be limited.
With a bit of luck, you will spot wildlife like monkeys or wild chickens in the surrounding jungle.

6. Hum Hum Waterfall
Hum Hum Waterfall is a hidden gem tucked away in the Razkandi reserve forest over in Moulvibazar District. The waterfall was actually discovered back in 2009. and it is the real deal if you’re looking for an adventure.
It stands at an impressive 135-160 feet tall. In my opinion, the best time to visit is during the rainy season when the falls are really flowing, and you can soak in all that natural beauty.
The interesting thing is that most Bangladeshi people don’t even know this place exists! If you want to check it out, you can hop on a bus or train from Dhaka city and make your way to Sreemangal. There are a few hotels in the area too, so you can make a whole weekend trip out of it.

7. Khoiyachora Waterfall
Last year, I had the chance to visit Khoiyachora waterfall, and it was quite an adventure. To get there, I had to hop off the bus at Bartakiya bazaar along the Dhaka-Chittagong highway. From there, I grabbed a CNG (basically a three-wheeled auto-rickshaw) to Rail gate. After that, it was just a matter of following the road.
Before long, I spotted the Chara/Jiri path – a little water stream – and decided to use the local footpath running alongside it. About half an hour later, I started seeing some houses, and that’s when I knew I was getting close. I took the right-hand path from there, and boom – there was the waterfall in all its glory!
This thing is massive, with nine awesome steps that make it truly unique. The atmosphere is stunning, with lush greenery all around and the water flowing beautifully. But I will say, the trail to get there is a bit bumpy and requires a bit of conditioning, so travelers definitely need to keep that in mind before setting off.

8. Richhang Waterfall
I recently had the chance to check out Richang Waterfall in Khagrachari, and it was gorgeous. This hidden gem is the result of Jhom cultivation, and the payoff is well worth the effort. The waterfall itself is an impressive sight, with the water cascading down from a height of around 100 feet.
I have to admit, I felt pretty accomplished after making the trek to get there. The path winds through hilly, brick-lined roads, and it’s about a 1.2-mile walk from the town of Khagrachori in Matiranga Upazilla.
When you arrive, there’s a little shop that sells drinks and snacks, which was a welcome sight after the journey. The water is crystal clear no matter when you visit, but I have to say, the rainy season really takes it to the next level.
